A Day At The August Wilson House

Written by Styling By Chi

Every artist needs a space to be nurtured and poured into. The August Wilson House, (created in honor of the late great playwright, August Wilson) an arts center in Pittsburgh’s beloved neighborhood “The Hill District” provides extensive art and cultural programming to the community by nurturing every artist to come, and it’s beautiful to see. Our Founder and Executive Director Demeatria Boccella, was able to get up close and personal, this past Wednesday, July 5, 2023 and see where the magic happens and how it’s causing a ripple effect to everyone that comes in contact with it. This day was a day full of inspiration, history, and good energy. Our very own Demeatria Boccella, along with August Wilson CEO Denise Turner, Board Member, Dr.Ervin Dyer, and First Lady of Pittsburgh, Michelle Gainey, were blessed to be able to feature special guests Ronald Hall (previously featured on FashionAFRICANA) and award-winning actor Kevin Mambo. It brings us such joy to be in spaces, surrounded by individuals that share the same goals and heart postures as FashionAFRICANA. With individuals like these deeply embedded in the art community, the future looks bright for our next generation of artists.
